The Arundell Hotel & Restaurant

Welcome to our world of calm, tucked away on the Cornwall Devon border, on the edge of Dartmoor. An old coaching inn, situated in the village of Lifton, at the heart of the rolling countryside of West Devon.  We are Just over a mile from the A30 and offer a convenient, accessible location.

The Arundell offers delicious food and warm hospitality and is the perfect place to stay for fly fishing, walking, outdoor activities, eating wonderful food and exploring West Devon and North Cornwall. Our restaurant is renowned for seasonal, locally sourced, and wild food that is beautifully prepared, and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. We care about the provenance of our ingredients, how our food is produced and the impact it has on the environment. 

Our wild game is all sourced less than 15 miles from the hotel’s kitchen, and line caught fish from the Cornish coast is delivered fresh on the day. For our farmed produce we are extremely fortunate to have Philip Warren’s butchers just a few miles away; in fact we were their first hotel client.

We have 21 bedrooms, including 8 dog-friendly rooms in our Coach House. Our dog-friendly rooms have a dog washing area nearby and lots of clean dry towels! Our lovely self-catering cottage is on site next to the hotel. It has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen diner and a small sitting room with an open fire. 

Relax and completely switch off in our home away from home.  Our fireside library is for board games, cards, reading, chatting or early evening drinks.  Our bar is perfect for lunches or cosy evenings and our beautiful restaurant is the perfect place for special occasions.
