Since opening in October 2014, Brace of Butchers has become a huge success due to its affordable quality and exceptional service. We have been recognised with local and national awards, for our excellent service to Dorchester and the surrounding area. We do what the supermarkets cannot, we have a very close relationship with local suppliers and manage our procurement direct from local farmers and producers. This ensures that our specialist butchers, Rob, Ben & Owen, are able to produce some of the best products you can find. The secret to our success is taking extreme care when sourcing our product. As opposed to purchasing separate cuts from several sources, we at Brace of Butchers procure entire animals from local farmers. This is what we believe to be respectful and responsible purchasing. Our butchers then both skilfully and carefully cure and age the meat in-house to improve the texture and flavour. This is how we are able to offer over 64 cuts of meat from our counter allowing you to vary your choice daily. Many of our in-house prepared products are also gluten free. Not only does our shop offer the finest butchery, we have also teamed up with some of the best producers, importers and foodies in our area to offer local bread, vegetables, beers & ciders, gin & sparkling wine, game, smoked seafood, beautiful cheeses, fresh baked goods and a fantastic range of local and international charcuterie.
