Established in 1978, Lavenders deli bakery has developed from an interest in high quality food. With a particular interest in cheese and cooked meats and all things Cornish from Pastie to pastries and so much more. The deli bakery and cafe all began with the idea that you could offer a wide range of products from cooked meats, local and foreign cheeses, freshly cooked pasties, pastries and cakes in a cafe setting where customers could enjoy the variety of delights on offer and thus Lavenders deli bakery was born.
We have expanded our wine and cider shop to include a deli where we have a wide selection of local produce to choose from. With a full offering of all Polgoon wines, ciders and juices please come into the shop and for those of you over 18 years of age, we can offer tastings of our drinks, soft drinks are also available. The Polgoon shop and deli also offers other locally made products and gifts, such as a range of jams, chutneys, eggs from our own hens, honey from our own bees and a range of wonderfully unique products from other producers around Cornwall.
We are open daily, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30 and during summer, also on Sundays from 10.30 until 4pm.
Ceiling-high shelves stock our jams, biscuits, chutneys and relishes, all made to Rick’s recipes, and ingredients from his travels around the world too. There are freshly baked goods including pasties, breads & pastries, all made by our team here in Padstow.

Charlie’s is a small, well established, family restaurant and delicatessen located in the legendary village of Tintagel, North Cornwall. We stock mainly Cornish produce, although do we make exceptions for exceptional things from further afield. Our focus on food is fresh, local and seasonal produce served in a simple manner allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves. We particularly favour smaller independent producers and are always seeking out artisans in our local area for new stock.
Centrally located in the village, we have large courtyard and cosy indoor areas in which to relax and watch the world go by. You will be able to relax in a friendly, informal and historic atmosphere.
We change our menus regularly keeping in tune with the times and seasons. From breakfast, then lunch with children’s menu and daily changing specials, then into afternoon tea. We promise you quality food, expertly cooked to order using the very best Cornish ingredients, complimented with a selection of locally produced wines and drinks, with the emphasis on seasonal, local & artisan.
Rebecca, Daniel and of course Charlie look forward to welcoming you very soon.
