Claytons and The Glasshouse has been under new management for just over 18-months, during which time a significant amount of investment has been provided to upgrade the building, decoration and kitchen. The premises now boast a brand-new roof terrace, rooftop conservatory dubbed ‘The Glasshouse’ and a completely refurbished interior based on Scandinavian wood and light design.
With this all in-place, Claytons and The Glasshouse is now setting its sights on becoming the premier dining establishment in North Devon. Initial reviews of the new menu and approach have been exceptionally positive, with membership to and reviews from well-respected publications including Food Drink Devon, Devon Life, Food Magazine and Taste of the West.
The premise is built around using the best locally sourced ingredients to deliver high-quality meals at both lunch and dinner without becoming inaccessibly expensive for local and loyal customers. Some of the new dishes on the menu include Devonshire Lamb Rump, Venison Steak, Indian Goat Curry and wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes including a superb Thai Vegan Curry.
This is supported by an excessively stocked cocktail and gin bar with over 200 spirits to choose from and a team of skilled mixologists to make over 30 cocktails; if wine is more to your liking, Claytons and The Glasshouse have partnered with Majestic to create a bespoke wine list to pair with your meal choice.
Finally, the team at Claytons and The Glasshouse have launched several regular events and promotions to ensure they remain both accessible and relevant within the local community. These include Fizzy Thursdays where you can get half-price Prosecco and sharing platters, the weekday lunch offer where you can get two courses for £15, and best of all: £10 roast dinners every Sunday!
