Bini Fine Foods Ltd was recently asked to cater for the ICC Cricket World Cup Matches by Somerset County Cricket Club.

During the recent fixtures at the County Ground in Taunton, Bini was asked to cater for three matches:

  • Afghanistan v New Zealand, Saturday June 8th
  • Pakistan v Australia, Wednesday June 12th
  • West Indies v Bangladesh, Monday June 17th

The menu included some of Bini's favourites and Taste of the West Award Winners - Lamb and Spinach Curry, Mogul Chicken Curry, Delhi Matar Paneer, Green Bean and Potato Curry, Gujarati Toor Dal and Gujarati Vegetable Rice. The Somerset Country Cricket Club wanted to feature both meat, vegetarian and vegan options which Bini was happy to provide, everything is gluten free so this really helped those who suffer from food allergies.

Bini said "It was a privilege to supply my curries for the teams that visited Taunton recently for the ICC Cricket World Cup - Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, West Indies and Australia. They requested Halal especially so I sourced a Wiltshire based butcher Walter Rose and Son for the meat who are certified in halal meat - this was a special request for the players who required it. I supplied all the curries in volumes of 5 litre containers to suit their catering requirements."

The events went very well, with good feedback from the County Ground, such as "(they) enjoyed the authenticity of the dishes and all the teams loved the curries." and, "...the ICC guests who were in the County Room were loving the authentic food."

Bini finishes by stating "I think the opportunity to be able to cater for the teams has been a highlight of this year so far. The use of local suppliers and the support structure I have means that Somerset and Wiltshire businesses have reaped the rewards from this opportunity."
