The White Hart Hotel is a traditional old posting house at the centre of the small moorland town of Moretonhampstead within the spectacular Dartmoor National Park. The Hotel dates back to 1639 and this historic Grade II listed building is being sympathetically refurbished to provide all modern comforts within a traditional setting.
Surrounded by rolling farmland and the county of Devon has a huge coastline, so sourcing fresh local meat, game and fish is no problem for our chefs. Always seeking out the best new local suppliers, we believe in letting the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves and our chefs produce delicious yet uncomplicated dishes in a regularly changing menu. You are welcome to eat in the restaurant or the bar – our full menu and daily specials are available in both. A free house, we stock a range of local real ales and have a hand-picked wine list.
An ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area of Devon, the White Hart has 20 well-appointed individually decorated en-suite bedrooms all with CD players, flat screen TVs and tea and coffee making facilities. The separate Mews building has eight rooms with an open plan communal lounge area – four rooms on the ground floor and four on the top.
Dogs and Dartmoor go together. Dartmoor is great walking country and dogs are welcome everywhere in the hotel, except in the dining room.
