The Castle Inn, Lydford is a quintessential 16th century inn with nine bedrooms resting on the fringes of Dartmoor National Park. With low ceilings, wonky walls, open fires and character in abundance. The pub is situated just off the A30 between the market towns of Okehampton and Tavistock (both 10 minutes away) in the quiet, charming village of Lydford, just 200m from the entrance to the majestic National Trust site of Lydford Gorge. We are surrounded by invigorating walks, horse trails and national cycle routes, with cosy corners and roaring fires in the winter months and large beautiful gardens to enjoy in the summer, there’s something for everyone year round.
The pub has a main bar, snug, restaurant and lounge, nine bedrooms and large beautiful gardens. Our menu is full of pub and British classics, our food is traditional, homemade and honest and our ingredients sourced from local producers. Our Brasserie at the Bay, to which hotel guests and locals are equally welcome, is open Tuesday through to Saturday 6.00pm to 10.30pm (last food order 9.00pm) and Sunday Lunch 12.00 - 2.30pm.
