Them Apples is Barnstaple's freshest dining experience. Our goal is to champion local produce by only sourcing from our community. In our constant search we seek these suppliers who are as passionate about their product as we are for ours. With these partnerships we have fresh, quality produce delivered straight to our door and that is the secret to our great tasting food. Sourcing only from the region allows us to embrace the seasons. Seasonal sourcing, of course, means seasonal menus and our highly skilled chef and his team are ready to serve the very best of what the local area has to offer in an exciting manner, mixing the contemporary with the classical.
Everything at Them Apples is handmade, this includes the ketchup and mayonnaise on your table and the relishes with the cheese board. Even our bread will be freshly made on site by a local baker.
Duende started as a pop up restaurant around the Chilterns and beyond, led by Chef Tim Zekki. Tim was previously known for his secret suppers in his delis in Twickenham and Isleworth, where he was a London Finalist in UKTV’s Gary Rhodes’ Local Food Heroes. After 4 years of fully booked pop up restaurants Duende has now settled down in a permanent location in Wiveliscombe, Somerset, since November 2017.
Tim’s Place was opened in 2012, when tim was eighteen years of age. After taking over the shop in Foundry street it has now transformed itself into one of the busiest cafe/bistros in Wadebridge. Specialising in homemade cakes and treats, breakfasts, light lunches and a ‘little bit bistro’ menu.
Open Monday to Saturday all year long, Sundays in the spring and summer season, Tim uses only the best ingredients to offer ‘ the Best taste of Cornwall’. Fresh Cornish fish from Fish for Thought, back bacon and Trelawny sausages from the Kernow Sausage Company, fresh sourdough and ciabatta from Padstow's Chough Bakery and fresh salad from Wadebridge's own Real Food Garden.
Tim’s Place is easy to catch the eye with a large window full of homemade cakes and scones but it also offers an extensive menu for those looking for a bit more to eat! The downstairs seating includes the ever popular chesterfield sofas, with upstairs also providing extra seating. To avoid disappointment, its worth booking a table, to do so please call 01208 812550.

The Moonfleet Manor Hotel is a luxury family hotel in Dorset. Head to the beach, armed with nets and buckets, to ply rock pools and find fossils. Sip coffee and nibble cake as the little ones caper around the enormous indoor play zone, or book a pampering treatment while the children have fun in our complimentary crèche. And when they fall asleep, we’ll listen out while you enjoy fine wine, great food and a little time together.
Food is a delectable blend of Mediterranean and British, with an emphasis on locally produced ingredients. The terrace is a perennial suntrap, but even on more ‘British’ days, you can enjoy the fabulous views across the Fleet from inside the restaurant. Our ingredients are rigorously tested for quality and locally sourced. Favourites include Jeff Milner’s Portland crabs, West Dorset Brewing Company fine ales and Black Cow vodka, distilled from milk.
Nigel Wright, head chef, trained under Michael Walmsley (formerly of Lucknam Park, Manoir and Claridges). He went on to run his own kitchen at The Rose & Thistle in Rockbourne where his food was renowned for being creative and delicious.
Kerry and Nigel have extensively travelled, exploring differing cuisines, which has had a great influence on their ideas. They have been at Saveur since July 2017 where Nigel continues to surprise and delight his diners with a diverse menu that has a modern European twist.
Our menu has something for everyone, from comfort food, to well-thought out dishes, using the flavours of the season and the local produce on our doorsetp. We embrace the principle of good food in relaxed surroundings and have always endeavoured to use the freshest, best ingredients and buy locally wherever possible.

Much of the food that appears on our menu is grown or reared by us, the rest comes from local producers who we love to support. We have our own smallholding where we rear and butcher our own sheep, pigs and poultry and a vegetable patch backing onto the beer garden where we grow our own vegetables and salads. Our beef comes from a nearby farm and fresh fish and shellfish are supplied by local dayboats operating out of Salcombe, Dartmouth and Start Bay.
Lunch and dinner menus feature a range of modern British pub classics while the Specials menu - which changes daily reflecting what is brought to the kitchen door - showcases a selection of more complex, innovative dishes. Sunday lunch features a choice of three exceptional roast meats served with all the trimmings.
We host a variety of special events throughout the year and can cater for outside events.
