We are a family run business producing traditional farmhouse cider and farm pressed apple juice, with locally harvested Somerset apples. The cider farm is a traditional working farm where you can visit and sample all our ciders before you buy. We also have a seventy seat restaurant that serves fresh, locally produced, home cooked food daily, and also caters for vegetarian and food allergies.
Three Bridges, Bradford-on-Tone, Taunton, Somerset, TA4 1ER
Sheppy’s Cider has been at Bradford-on-Tone since the family moved here in 1917, and the name and location have been a fixed point in the lives of local people and holiday makers ever since. Over the years we have welcomed thousands of visitors to our shop, tea room and museum.
Although we focus primarily on perfecting our cider, we know that it’s just as important to make sure that people can visit the very place that we produce the cider from. It helps connects our cider and our traditions to our customers.
We ferment our ciders using the naturally occurring wild yeast from the apples. We then mature some of them in oak vats, many of which have been in the family for almost 100 years. David Sheppy, our Master of Cider, has developed his skills over a lifetime blending dessert apples with cider varieties to give Sheppy's its distinctive, high quality taste.
In recent times we have created brand new production facilities, freeing our lovely old brick buildings for development. In April we opened the doors to Sheppy’s House of Cider- a bigger shop, café, bar, restaurant, and much more. We will also have a venue inside an old cider vat which will play host to one of our many tours.

The Carter family, owners of Greendale Farm Shop, has been farming the East Devon countryside for more than five generations. A world away from the supermarkets, Greendale farm shop is bursting with fresh, locally-sourced produce. If we can’t grow it on our farm or catch it from our fishing boats, we buy from carefully chosen suppliers; it’s important that we offer only the best to our customers. With its wet fish counter, on-site butchers, fabulous Deli and well-stocked grocery department a visit to the farm shop is always worthwhile.
As a farm nestled on a hill, beside an ancient spring we thought it was only right to call our first Farm Shop & Kitchen, Tre, Pol & Pen. It’s these elements of home, water and earth that we believe are the key to a life well fed.
At our delicatessen, you can gorge out on a range of freshly cut local cheeses or take your pick from our locally sourced selection of ceiling hung salami and other free range cured meats. Our on site butchers prepare the finest cuts from Red Ruby beef direct from the fields that surround the farm shop as well as the best grass fed meat from the local area. Our fruit and vegetable stall stocks a range of the freshest produce fresh from the orchards and farms of Cornwall and The Tamar Valley along with an extensive range of exotic fruit and veg to ensure you have everything you need for your five a day. On site we stock a range of different breads from locally sourced sourdough to baguettes and freshly baked pastries.
There is an old farming saying, “Look after your cows and your cows will look after you.”
It goes to the heart of what happens here at Park Farm. We take a traditional approach both to how we raise and graze our small herd of 160 mainly Holstein Friesian cows and to our artisan, handmade, hands-on cheesemaking.
We are entirely organic and are registered with Organic Farmers and Growers – so that means no fungicides, pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used on our land. Instead we use manure and organic compost: the environment, the land and the waterways remain uncontaminated. Our milk and cheese is produced in a way that protects our natural world and lets every farm animal feel the sun on its back.
Of course, we do not avoid technology if it will contribute to our animals’ welfare or will improve the quality of our cheese. We have a brand new milking parlour that allows our cows to produce one million litres of milk per year. Around 60% of this is turned into cheese in our state-of-the-art cheese facility, while the rest goes to another cheesemaker who uses it to make organic cheddar or to another producer who makes our delicious ice-cream.
If you are interested in visiting us, you can pop along to our café for a toastie or to buy some cheese.
