This beautiful 16th century former coaching inn is an iconic building located in the heart of Cerne Abbas, Dorchester. New life has been breathed into the property by Jeremy and Vanessa Lee, who, after trading to critical acclaim for three years, closed the pub in 2011 for a top-to-toe refurbishment. The New Inn is unashamedly all about really good food and drink. They are not aiming to reinvent the wheel, just cook and serve the best seasonal local produce that the area is blessed with. The wine list is by no means exhaustive but has been compiled with the expert help of Mark Banham from Palmers wine store in Bridport. Three local Palmers Brewery cask ales are always available and in tip top condition along with two local ciders.

We are located right by the beach with outside terraces and cliff seating providing the best position to come and enjoy the tranquility and views of the beautiful West Dorset Jurassic Coast. The pub has two bars, is open all year round and is oozing with charm and character. We serve a varied menu of home-cooked food both at lunchtimes and evenings and have an excellent selection of Palmers Brewery ales, beers, wines and spirits. Our menu is inspired by traditional pub food using the best local produce from the best local suppliers. Our fish comes from Samways and Davy's Locker in Bridport; our meat from the oldest butcher in the country, R J Balson; and our vegetables and salads from Cains Farm in Chideock and Graingers in Dorchester. We pride ourselves in serving restaurant quality food in a very relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The Ferryboat Inn dates back 300 years and is situated in the North Helford Passage on the waterfront. Surrounded by wooded banks and sloping fields, this is one of Cornwall's most breathtaking locations. Eating and drinking is central to The Ferryboat Inn, where we serve Wright Brothers seafood specialities alongside home-made pub classics. We have a 'farm to plate' philosophy meaning we want little or nothing to come between you and the produce we serve. Many of our oysters and shellfish are grown and harvested at the historic Duchy of Cornwall Oyster Farm (a short boat-ride up-river from the pub), and our fish, crabs and lobsters come from local day boats.
All our food is prepared here on the premises, using as much local produce as possible. Every morning finds one or two of the Chefs making up all the dishes that appear on our menu and specials board. All of our beef comes from local butchers and most of our fish is caught locally. Our specials board changes daily according to what is available. Our puddings are always popular, all home made and most are served with a dollop of local clotted cream. We also take great pride in our wide choice of local beers, ciders, spirits and liqueurs.

We have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere whether you just stop for a relaxing drink in the bar or come to enjoy a delicious meal in our restaurant. Outside the restaurant is a large beer garden with a paved seating area and a large lawn for the more active. The Pilot Boat is a traditional Dorset pub set in the heart of the busy seaside town of Lyme Regis that is popular with locals and visitors alike. Produce is bought daily depending on seasonality, from what is offered by nearby farms, caught in the sea, grown in the garden, foraged, shot or available at good local suppliers. They take their drink seriously as well, and in line with their keep it local ethos, all of the cask ale is brewed by the award winning Palmers in Bridport brewery, just down the road. The wine list is well considered, sampling a good cross section of grape varieties that complement the menu.
