Godminster are creators of award-winning cheeses based in Somerset, England. The Godminster cheese range includes their iconic burgundy-waxed Vintage Organic Cheddars, their Oak-Smoked Vintage Organic Cheddar, and a trio of Organic Bries made using milk from their own organic farm.
The cows at Godminster Farm enjoy a simple and wholesome life and as a result produce a deliciously creamy milk. The freshness of the milk and the sustainable approach to farming is a major contributor to the delicious and distinctive taste of our award-winning Godminster cheese and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
If you are in the Somerset area - or just passing through on the A303 - then drop by and visit us in Bruton. We stock the whole Godminster selection, from timeless Godminster waxed cheddars to our entire gift box ranges. Visit us for vodka sampling, daily cheese tasting, or simply a friendly chat about how we create our Godminster goodies!
Welcome to Jamaica Inn, high up on wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor and made world-famous by Daphne du Maurier's tale of smugglers, rogues and wreckers. A new BBC drama of Jamaica Inn was broadcast at Easter 2014.
This historic coaching house has welcomed weary travellers crossing Bodmin Moor for nearly 300 years. Full of legend, mystery, romance and even, according to folklore, the odd friendly spirit, the Inn continues to welcome guests to its 36 en suite bedrooms, award-winning restaurant, ‘olde worlde’ bars with great local ales and wines, its farm shop, souvenir shop and the fascinating Smugglers’ Museum where tales of wreckers, murderers and villains are brought wonderfully to life!
The Inn is easily reached being just beside the A30 at Bolventor, midway between Launceston and Bodmin. It is the perfect base for exploring the moor and, being close to the Cornwall and Devon border, it is also a great base for visiting almost anywhere in either county and still be back in time for dinner.
