We supply everything from home reared award winning beef, lamb and pork to homemade pies and cakes, as well as charcuterie, milk, local cheese, eggs, juice, chutneys, jams and other local products. Both the farm shop and the cafe won Gold in the 2016 Taste of the West Awards and the Cafe won Best South West Cafe/Tea Room 2016.
Jon Thorner's began with one simple idea: to offer good food, locally sourced. Starting in 1976, Jon Thorner's was one of the region's very first farm shops and specialised in providing locally reared meat. In this time the business has grown from a single farm shop, to a franchise of butchery counters, a large range of hand made foods, supplying local produce wholesale and running a cafe. But one thing which has remained consistent throughout the years is the quality of our products and where we source them from. We have always focused on supporting local suppliers; Jon has developed an excellent reputation and is respected for his attitude towards local sourcing. We champion the best Somerset has to offer, all under one roof.
Opened in 2005, The Udder Farm Shop was the brainchild of Jane and Brian Down when they saw a lack of opportunity for buying local produce and few places for the local community to meet. Built from the ground up to their own specifications there is now a restaurant, deli, shop and butchery. All the beef or pork for sale in the farm shop or cooked in the restaurant is raised on Jane and Brian's own farm next door, or bought in from the local village. In fact, all the meats and products are sourced from the local area where feasible whether pork, biscuits, tea or paintings!
Hilltop Farm Shop and Cafe offer local Cornish produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and have a licensed cafe/restaurant on the premises. They also supply Welcome Hampers to self-catering accommodation providers.

Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, delicious cakes and coffee, and everything in-between. Our award-winning chef has come from a very prestigious Devon restaurant, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to develop and lead our farm shop café. His ethics are matched with ours; believing in serving local, seasonal, fresh produce to the best of our ability. Our products cross over, so if you like it in the cafe it will be available in the shop. With ethics, welfare, local and seasonal produce in mind, our menu changes with the seasons, so please do come in and see what delights we have available. Rumwell Farm Shop is an independent, family-run, award-winning business owned by the Mitchell family. It is situated on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton. It was originally a potato store, where David and Anne Mitchell began selling their potatoes and free range eggs at the gate.
Due to customer demand, the range of products soon increased and the farm shop grew into the place it is today. David and Anne’s sons, James and Jack, are now also involved in the business, as well as daughters-in-law Sophie and Donna.
The shop has a traditional butchery counter selling free range pork and Aberdeen Angus beef reared just four miles away on the family farm. There is also a delicatessen, bakery, jam kitchen, food hall, wine cellar and gift room.
The jam kitchen produces a range of 50 products including jams, chutneys and marmalades all made using fruit and vegetables from the shop.
Home grown potatoes are also still available, when in season, as well as everything from fruit, vegetables and groceries to plants, flowers, gifts and cards.
Come and see for yourself – we look forward to serving you!
