Veyseys butchers of Cullompton has been selling quality local meats for over 100 years. We are experienced butchers with a wealth of knowledge in our trade and a passion for food.
Our meat comes from the Rural farmlands of the west country, we pride ourselves on locally reared livestock grass fed and where possible organically farmed. We source all Beef, Pork, Lamb, and Game within a 20-mile radius of our premises in Cullompton Devon Therefore, this makes up for 90% of our meat and game stock that is sold over our counter. Sourced this way, means we maintain the highest efficiency and expected standard. This also saves the carbon footprint. Livestock is taken by the farmer to our local slaughter house. All carcasses are butchered on site, enabling best cuts with minimum waste.
We know the farmers personally and have a great working relationship with them all. We work very closely with our suppliers to ensure both customers and ourselves are satisfied with the end result. Because we have worked with our suppliers for over 50 years they know the exact quality we expect, our likes and dislikes. All of our meats can be traced from farm gate to dinner plate.

Dartmoor Poultry is a family run business, based in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, on the outskirts of Widecombe in the Moor. The company has been trading since 2016, but Paul started rearing for Christmas 17 years ago with 2 geese and 5 turkeys!
We are a family of four, with both of us coming from Dartmoor farming families. Paul's grandparents used to rear Christmas poultry many years ago and he wanted to restart this venture. Alongside the poultry, we also farm a small number of cattle, pigs and goats.
We know that we like to know where our meat comes from, what kind of life it has had and how well it is prepared. Our standards on this does not change for meat we produce to sell. Afterall, we enjoy our Christmas dinner from our own stock, unless Paul manages to sell it, which has happened in the past!
The main aims of our company are: to produce turkeys and geese for a similar price, so the choice of Christmas bird for a family can be on what they want, not just what they can afford, and to produce quality meat that is affordable at one of the most expensive times of the year.

Toby himself heads up the team, with wife Ali working hard keeping things in order behind the scenes. With over 14 years experience in the industry, Toby originally trained as a chef in catering college. As a third generation farmer, his interest in butchery was initially to give himself additional skills and to enhance his knowledge for becoming a Chef. This quickly grew into a real interest and passion for the trade and he soon re-trained as a skilled butcher near the family farm in Highworth. Taking his apprenticeship in a local butchers, Toby forged himself a career with his goal being to own his own business one day.
