The Taste of the West Awards programme has been promoting and supporting the South West food and drink industry for over 25 years. It has grown to become the most prestigious food and drink awards programme in the South West - don't miss out on your chance to be part of it.

Product Awards 2018

You can now enter your products into the Taste of the West Product Awards 2018 - the deadline for all entries is 30 APRIL 2018

Here's an extra incentive to enter your products this year... our affiliate member Food Labelling Services will be analysing the labelling on every entry as part of this year's judging process.
Mistakes on food labelling can be very costly for producers and cause more product recalls than any other area and, in some cases, can lead to prosecution. Food Labelling Services are offering a FREE top-line appraisal of your labels, looking in particular at legal names, ingredients, false claims and allergens. You will be sent a full report on your label when you receive the judges' feedback on your entry.

Best Newcomer Award: if you are entering the Taste of the West Awards for the very first time in 2018, your product(s) will also automatically be entered into our Best Newcomer Award, sponsored by The Tracklement Company Ltd. Be in with a chance of winning an "all access" pass to spend half a day at Tracklements, plus an exclusive opportunity to talk to the management team and pick their brains!

Hospitality & Retail Awards

If you serve or sell fantastic food from the West Country, and want to be rewarded for your efforts to support the region's best food and drink producers, enter your establishment NOW!

Our Hospitality Awards are open to all cafes/tea rooms, dining pubs, restaurants, casual dining establishments, local food-to-go outlets, bed & breakfasts and hotels.

Our Retail Awards are open to all specialist retailers/delicatessens, farm shops, butcher's shops, online retailers and farmers' markets.

If you are a Hospitality or Retail member of Taste of the West, you can enter one of the categories above free of charge. To enter, all you need to do is send an email to awards@tasteofthewest.co.uk.

Our Hospitality & Retail Awards are also open to non-members of Taste of the West. The entry fee is £160 (plus VAT), but you can save money and receive more benefits by becoming a Taste of the West member for just £145. Send an email to Caroline Cook or visit our membership page to find out more.

What's involved?

When you enter, you'll be visited - without notice - by one of our judges. They'll be looking out for where your products or ingredients come from, how well you communicate local sourcing to your customers, the quality of service, and assessing atmosphere, ambience and value for money at your establishment. If you're serving food and drink, they'll also be judging the quality of that too! Afterwards you'll receive an objective evaluation about their experience.

If your business wins an award we'll send you a certificate, window sticker and a digital logo. We'll also promote you as an award-winning establishment on our website. Winning an award generates great press and media coverage for your business, and most importantly it conveys the quality of your establishment to your customers.

South West Food & Drink Innovation Award

Our South West Food & Drink Innovation Award was a brand new award for 2017, kindly sponsored by Grant Thornton. The overall winner was Cornish Edible Insects. Congratulations to them, and to all of our innovative finalists too.

Taste of the West Awards - Champion Winners 2017

In 2017 the Taste of the West Awards Ceremony took place at The Great Hall of Exeter University on 14 September. We hosted somewhere in the region of 400 guests at this stunning venue, including food and drink producers, top retailers, restaurateurs, food writers, buyers and leading chefs from across the region.    
Throughout the lunch we revealed the Champions of each category and the winners of the coveted 2017 Supreme Champion Product Award, together with the Award for No. 1 Place to Go and, of course, our South West Producer of the Year. We also announced the winners of our two brand new awards for 2017: the South West Food & Drink Innovation Award and Best Newcomer Award.
